About

My name is Paula and i am the manager for The Lamplighters Pub in Shirehampton. I am just starting my fundraising  journey to get a commuinity defibrillator installed on the outside of the pub. I am looking to raise £2500 and to kick start this off i will be doing a 20 mile sponsored walk. Any donation is appreciated no matter how big or small, any money raised over our target will go directly to great western air abulance.

The Reality, Every year in the UK 30,000 people suffer an out of hospital cardiac arrest and only 1 in 10 will survive. For every minute that passes, a person loses a further 10% chance of survival. Only 40% of people in the UK receive bystander CPR and fewer than 2% of people have an automated external defibrillator (AED) used prior to the ambulance arriving. Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) rapidly dispatch Critical Care Doctors and Specialist Paramedics in Critical Care to cardiac patients and anyone who is desperately unwell or injured in our region. By sending the skill and equipment normally found in a hospital Emergency Department to the scene of the most serious 999 calls, we give people the best chance on their worst day.
