My Story

I am raising money for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, as part of my adventure to cycle Land's End to John O'Groats in September. I have had a long affinity with Helicopters during my career, from my time at Rolls Royce, looking after the Helicopter Engine projects.... RTM322, MTR390, Gem & Gnome; and my time at RNAS Yeovilton leading teams supporting the Lynx and Sea King maintenance activities, including the Search and Rescue MK3 Sea Kings. Our teams were really proud to deliver these aircraft back to the Squadrons looking and operating immacculately. So I was delighted when my current company Stirling Dynamics chose Great Western Air Ambulance as its Charity of the Year, and really looking forward to my adventure of cycling the length of the country whilst raising much needed funds for our regional flying hospital.

So unfortunately our Team of Michelle, Amanda and Nina caught COVID within 2 weeks of departure. We are now planning to ride LEJOG in May 2023, and training weekends have already commenced with a session on the Mendips in October; and a camping and cycling 54 miler in the Brecon Beacons in November.

We are off in 4 weeks time, start on Friday 5th May for our 20 day adventure, so excited, so looking forward to it now, more training to do, lots of cycling and gym. We have been on cycling weekends through February and March, just April to go. Lots of visits to the gym too. LEJOG here we come.
